Gigstarter is a platform that allows artists and management go directly to fans and ask them where they should play. Fans pledge to buy tickets and using this data, tours are planned & funded. This reduces guesswork and middlemen, thus increasing revenue from the ticket for the Artist.
When making Gigstarter’s logo my goal was to make it illustrative enough, with flowing or distinctively shaped letterforms so that it could become like a mark for a rock band that teens could render meticulously on their schoolbags or scrape onto desks and pencilcases (thus promoting the product!). I personally spent hours and hours doing this myself as a teen and the aim was to make it cool enough to inspire kids to want to doodle it.
